This
week we feature Long Islands' own 1968 olds cutlass. This was his grandfather's Oldsmobile and Anthony has had the car since 1986. In those days it was cool to have air shocks and tires that
didn't fit in the wheel wells and it did. This car spent many nights terrorizing
Hempstead Tpke. and 231 or Deer Park Ave..
Through the years he has changed the motor, tranny, and rear too many
times to remember. Finally Anthony decided to make it into a
race car. After tubbing the car, he let it sit for 10 years until he had
the time and money to hand it over to Long Island Performance.
Finally,
as you can see, finish the car they did!!! The motor is a 468
chevy built by LAB. It's topped with an 871 BDS Supercharger and two 850's worked by BDS.
The tranny is a Freddy Brown turbo 400 with a trans brake and the rear is a chrome-moly fabricated 9" (FAB9)
Alston chassisworks. Center section was built by Pyle Bros. and contains 3.89 gears so he can cruise
